Rexel USA Manager Tax Technology in Dallas, Texas

The position of Manager Tax Technology will be based out of our Dallas, TX location! (Hybrid)

Summary

The Technology Tax Manager is responsible for the Vertex application and for creating business solutions and data feeds to ensure compliance with federal, international, state sales tax and local income tax laws applicable to the Company and the jurisdictions in which it conducts its business. Primarily focuses on sales tax exemption compliance, sales tax credits, and the tax systems and data feeds necessary to support the tax department as well as newly acquired businesses.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the data feeds, data preparation, review, and data reconciliation of monthly sales tax data to ensure accurate and timely filing of sales tax returns in all jurisdictions

  • Create KPI's to monitor service level expectations and monitor overall performance of exemption certificate compliance and dispute resolution life cycle

  • Generate/Maintain data files used for the monthly sales tax process

  • Develop and implement system solutions needed to support compliance with tax laws applicable to the Company and the jurisdictions in which it conducts its business

  • Responsible for documentation retention related to tax exemptions and tax credits to ensure exemption documentation is properly stored in Vertex for future audits

  • Responsible for the training, maintenance, and custom rules for the Vertex Tax Application

  • Provide Guidance on difficult situations in a diplomatic and professional manner. Regularly interact with Branch Managers and other field personal to provide guidance on tax situations

  • Complete financial projects as assigned by the Director Tax Technology or the Vice President of Tax

  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of IT system development and business knowledge

  • 3+ years of experience using SQL & ETL tools

  • Experience with Microsoft or Oracle SQL

  • Preferred experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or Altrex
